Inside the finance function

innosity comes from the finance function of regulated companies — group and single-entity reporting, the closing cycle, and the systems that carry it. Consulting is most of what we do. What we invest in, and who we introduce to whom, follows from the same ground.

We work where the numbers are made

Consulting is the larger part of innosity. We work with finance and reporting functions in regulated environments: the group and single-entity close, the systems that produce it, and the reconciliations in between.

Our starting point is how the figures actually come about — which system holds them, who checks what against what, and where the close loses time.

Reporting & Close

Group and single-entity reporting, consolidation, and the calendar they run on. We help structure the cycle and make the path from ledger to statement traceable.

  • Group and single-entity close
  • Consolidation and reconciliation
  • Audit support and documentation

Finance Systems

The systems that reporting runs on, and the work of moving from one to the next. We support selection, integration and migration into a new environment.

  • Selection and integration
  • Migration of reporting processes
  • Interfaces to ledgers and source systems

AI in the Reporting Cycle

In a supervised environment AI earns its place at specific points, not across the board: reconciliation, variance analysis, drafting and review.

  • Controls that keep a result checkable

How we work

We start in the cycle itself. One close, watched from end to end, usually says more than a workshop does.

From there the work can be anything from a written recommendation to sitting with the team through the next implementation.

The usual first step is a conversation about one cycle.

We invest on the ground we advise on

innosity invests its own money in a handful of companies. What we can judge is what we have seen from the inside: how a company’s figures come about, how a team handles a deadline it cannot move, and whether a product survives contact with a regulated buyer.

We look closely at the people. Whether they see the same problem from more than one side, and whether they can say plainly what they do not yet know, tells us more than a plan does.

We invest rarely, and stay

innosity is a small holding. The number of companies we can properly look after is the limit, not the ambition. Once we hold one, we stay with it.

Early

Ideas and teams from before the structures have settled.

Growth

Past the first product, where the organisation becomes the constraint.

Established

A working business, where the next constraint sits in reporting and control.

AI in Financial Reporting · Biotechnology · Circular Economy

Three fields we follow. The first is where our own work sits; the other two we watch because the questions in them are worth understanding.

AI in Financial Reporting

Where our own work sits

Systems that produce or check supervised figures, and the tools being built around them. We can tell a demonstration from a tool that holds up in a close.

Biotechnology

Science first

Developments in health and research where the science has already stood up to somebody else’s scrutiny. The timelines are long, and that suits us.

Circular Economy

Material, not messaging

Using material more than once, treated as an engineering problem — collection, processing and reuse that carry their own costs and still come out ahead.

The right introduction at the right time

Networking is the smallest part of innosity. We make an introduction when we can see why it would help.

It is about people and collaboration, not about arranging investments or financial products for third parties.

Question ↔ Experience

Most of it is specific: a person with a particular problem, put in front of a person who has already had it.

Company ↔ Company

Two companies that should know each other, introduced with the reason spelled out.

The people behind innosity

Three people. They do the work this page describes.

Let’s talk

Most enquiries start with something specific — a close that runs long, a system that is being replaced, or a company you are looking at.

Tell us about it, and one of us will answer you personally.
